Lacerate! At least, that's what my rogue character does. I just figure that's why there's so much blood in there. That mode is pretty much active all the time for me. But I do agree. Sometimes it's just like, 'GOD what did you guys just DO? Crush the poor guy?" Especially because it always seems to end up all over everyone's face. How do they even see with all that gut and gore in their eyes? Wouldn't that sting?
I remember first playing the game and just laughing my ass off when people's innards started exploding over me. It never seemed over the top to me, just like...perfect. "I shall bathe in the blood of my enemies, mmm yes."
Now considering the size of the swords often available to Hawke (if you are a Rogue or Soldier) that's one explanation for the spread of blood. Otherwise everybody just bleeds easily - if they get pricked - do they not bleed - oh yes they bleed profusely.
I don't think there's ever been another game where enemies have bled as much - well not any that I know of. Many characters who are killed in Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect actually bleed far less. They bleed, but its not usually all over the place - exceptions yes though not many at that.
meh get over it you two...try killing a worm thats able to sink entire cities by cutting its several hearts out from the inside....then your practicly swimming in blood!!! (also coughing up blood thats not even yours!)
arthimel learned this when he got eaten by the high dragon......rule number 1 of arthimels gang of strange people: never speak of the high dragon incident.....or flemeth....or the archdemon....or being blown over by almost every damn creature in the game they meet.......
